The day I've been eagerly awaiting has arrived-or gotten much closer at least. My mucus "plug" came out early this morning and I've been having contractions since 4am. Depending on how I progress, I may have my baby in my arms by monday. Right now I am still at home-my contractions are still 15-30 minutes apart, so I've got to stay here. Since I'm not dilated at all,my midwife doesn't want me to go to the hospital until my contractions are five minutes apart....though I don't know how I will make it till then! All the women I know have warned me that contractions make menstrual cramps seem like child's play, and I've got to admit that they are right! I tell myself to relax when I feel it starting but DAMN......it just hurts. And the crazy thing is that this is just the beginning; the pain will get more frequent & intense. The minute I'm admitted to my birthing room, I want an epidural. There is no way I am going to get through all this pain without drugs; I don't even want to try now.
